How to share Amazon affiliate links on Instagram and TikTok
By the BioHive team · Updated
Where links are clickable
| Place | TikTok | |
|---|---|---|
| Post or Reel caption | Not clickable | Not clickable |
| Profile bio | Clickable (bio links) | Clickable once your account is eligible for a website link |
| Stories | Link sticker | No standard link sticker |
| Comments and DMs | Not reliably clickable; looks spammy | Not clickable |
So the bio link does the heavy lifting. Make it a page where people can actually find the product from your video, not a wall of buttons.
The setup that works
- Get your Amazon links. In the Amazon Associates SiteStripe bar on any product page, copy the short link (
amzn.to/…) or the full link with your tag. - Add them to one page. In BioHive, paste the link and the card fills itself in. Add a code if a brand gave you one, and use collections ("Kitchen", "Gym bag") so people can browse.
- Put the page in your bio.
biohive.store/yournamein both apps. - Point each post at one product. Every BioHive product has a short shop code like JUG4. Say it in the video or put it on screen: viewers type it at biohive.store/find (or in your store's search) and land on that exact item. More on shop codes.
- Disclose. Add "#ad" or "I earn from qualifying purchases" in the caption or on screen, not only on your bio page. Disclosure guide.
Amazon rules worth knowing
- Identify yourself as an Amazon Associate. Amazon's Operating Agreement requires the statement "As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases" (or similar) wherever you share links. BioHive shows an affiliate disclosure on every store page; keep disclosing in your posts too.
- Be careful with prices. Amazon prices change often, and the Associates Program Policies limit how you may display Amazon pricing. Leaving the price blank on Amazon items is the safest choice; if you show one, keep it current.
- Don't hide where the link goes. Make it clear the item is sold on Amazon, for example "on Amazon" in the card's description.
- Read the current Associates Program Policies; Amazon updates them from time to time.
Measure what works
Amazon reports what sold; BioHive shows which cards got tapped and where the visits came from (Instagram, TikTok, direct). Comparing the two tells you which videos drive interest and which products convert.
FAQ
Can I put an Amazon affiliate link in an Instagram caption?
You can paste it, but it won't be clickable. Followers would have to copy it by hand. Put the link on your bio page instead, or use the link sticker in an Instagram Story.
Why can't I add a link to my TikTok bio?
TikTok only shows the website field to eligible accounts. Personal accounts usually need around 1,000 followers; business accounts can often add one sooner. Until then, send viewers to your page by name or shop code.
Do I have to disclose Amazon affiliate links on social media?
Yes. The FTC expects a clear disclosure in the post itself, and the Amazon Associates program requires you to identify yourself as an Amazon Associate. For example: "I earn from qualifying purchases (#ad)."
Are amzn.to short links allowed?
Yes. Amazon's own SiteStripe creates amzn.to links, and BioHive accepts both the short link and the full product link.
