Shop codes: how followers find the exact product from your video
By the BioHive team · Updated
The problem codes solve
Someone watches your video, likes the lamp, and keeps scrolling. Later they remember "it was on BioHive" and maybe a number. Without codes, they'd have to find your profile, open your bio link and scroll through 80 products. With a code, it's one search.
How it works
- Your code. When you create a store, BioHive suggests a short code from your name (you can change it in Settings). Example: JUG.
- Product numbers. Each product you add gets the next number: JUG1, JUG2, JUG3… It shows as a small badge on every card.
- In your content. Say "Shop code JUG4" in the video, or put it on screen. Works for Reels, TikToks, YouTube Shorts, Stories and even live streams.
- Shoppers find it. They type
JUG4at biohive.store/find and see the product with a Shop button and a link to your full store.
Tips
- Put the code on screen for at least two seconds, in large text.
- Pin a comment with the code; comments are searchable even when links aren't clickable.
- Use the same code across platforms so followers learn it.
- In your caption, add "Code JUG4 at biohive.store/find" plus your affiliate disclosure (how to disclose).
Try it
Our demo store uses the code DEMOC. Type DEMOC3 to see what a shopper sees.
FAQ
Where do shoppers enter a shop code?
At biohive.store/find, in the search box on the BioHive homepage, or in the search bar on the creator's own store page. Codes aren't case-sensitive, so jug4 works too.
Can I choose my own shop code?
Yes. Creators pick a code of 2 to 6 letters in Settings, as long as no one else has it. Product numbers are assigned automatically and never reused.
What happens if I change my code?
Your old code stays reserved for you, so codes in older videos keep working. Nobody else can claim it.
What if I delete a product?
Its number is never reused. Anyone who types the old code sees a message that the item isn't available anymore, with a link to the rest of your store.
What if a viewer only types my shop code?
Typing just the creator part (for example JUG) opens that creator's whole store.
