How you earn commission with BioHive
By the BioHive team · Updated
Who pays you
When a follower taps a product on your BioHive page and buys it, the store (Amazon, Walmart, a brand) pays you a commission through its affiliate program. BioHive is the page in between. We charge a flat $5/month and never take a cut.
Three steps to earn
- Join an affiliate program. Pick the stores you already recommend. Popular ones: Amazon Associates (or the Amazon Influencer Program), LTK, ShopMy, Walmart Creator, Target Partners (through Impact), and brand programs on Impact, Awin, Rakuten or CJ. Signing up is free.
- Copy your affiliate link. Inside the program, find the product and use its "Get link" or "Share" button. On Amazon, sign in to Associates and use the SiteStripe bar at the top of any product page.
- Paste that link into BioHive. Go to Products, paste it, and we fill in the photo and title. Every tap on your page goes through your link, so the store knows the sale came from you.
How to tell if a link is an affiliate link
- Amazon: starts with
amzn.to/, or the full link containstag=yourname-20. If neither, it won't earn. BioHive warns you when you paste an Amazon link without a tag. - LTK: starts with
liketk.it/. ShopMy: starts withshopmy.us/. - Other stores: the program gives you a special link, often with your ID in it or a short link from the network. The plain address from your browser bar usually doesn't earn.
Common mistakes
- Copying the link from the address bar instead of the program's "Get link" button.
- Using a friend's or someone else's link (their tag earns, not yours).
- Not being approved yet for the program. Links from a program you haven't joined won't pay.
- Forgetting the disclosure. BioHive shows one on your page automatically, but also say it in your posts (how to disclose).
Where to see your earnings
In each program's own dashboard. BioHive shows you clicks per product and where they came from, so you can see what's working, and the program shows the sales and commission.
FAQ
Does BioHive pay me commission?
No. BioHive is the page that shows your products. The commission comes from the store's affiliate program, and they pay you directly. BioHive never touches it and never takes a cut.
Will I earn if I paste a normal Amazon link?
No. A link copied from the address bar has no affiliate tag, so Amazon doesn't know it came from you. Use the link from Amazon Associates (the SiteStripe 'Get link' button at the top of any Amazon page when you're signed in). It either starts with amzn.to or contains tag=yourname-20.
Do I need to be approved first?
Yes, for each program you want to earn from. Most programs have a free application. Some, like LTK, review your account before you're accepted. Amazon Associates lets you start right away and reviews your account after your first sales, so check each program's current rules.
When do I get paid?
Each program pays you on its own schedule, usually monthly after a holding period for returns. You'll see your earnings in that program's dashboard, not in BioHive. BioHive shows you the clicks.
Can I mix programs on one page?
Yes. That's what BioHive is for. Put Amazon, LTK, ShopMy and brand links side by side on one page.
